Beach Dogs
What's better than the beach? Going to the beach with dogs! I recently went on a family vacation with my favorite fuzzy faces in tow. It was wonderful! Both dogs and humans were content!
Baby and Turner loved sitting in this window watching cars, people, and dogs go by!
Or for an afternoon sunshine nap!

Very serious...
Gotta love a nice head of beach hair!
My favorite!

C2CND Pup of the Month

This is Nickie, the Dog of the Month for Catering to Cats and Dogs. She's a 4-year-old hound who was rescued at the last minute from a local shelter. Much to the rescuer's surprise, Nickie was pregnant! Doesn't she just look so sweet? I love hounds! Nickie gave birth to one puppy, Uno, and both will be available for adoption once the pup is weaned. Try not to faint from the cuteness that is Uno...

I mean, words can't even express the preciousness that is Uno the Hound Puppy!

Meet Lita
I had the privilege of photographing Lita last weekend while she was at a Petco adoption event. She's a 4-month-old mixed breed and is such a sweetheart! She was found as a stray and is looking for her forever home. If you're interested in Lita, visit Catering to Cats and Dogs.

Sweet Memories
I've mentioned my love for beagles several times (remember Ziggy, Bo & Shiloh?). I thought I'd introduce you to my first Beagle loves, Gracie and Pez.
In college, my best friend Jessica adopted Gracie from the pound. What a sweetheart! She had the most loving disposition and was so calm. Sometimes during walks she would be ready to go home and would just sit on the ground and not budge until we turned around. Gracie was also gorgeous! About a year into Gracie's new life with Jessica, Pez came into the picture.
Some people who lived beside a friend of mine moved out of their house and left behind a Beagle. Besides the fact that this is a horrible and disgusting thing to do, it was the dead of winter. My friend called me because I used to talk to that Beagle every time I visited. I immediately came and got him. I had no clue what I was going to do next, just that he HAD to be out of the cold. When I got there he was shivering and had a frozen water bowl. Naturally, I took him to my best friend's house! She agreed to let him stay for "just a few days" (haha).
Of course, a few days turned into the rest of his life because we soon discovered that we could never separate Gracie and Pez. They were best friends and, I believe, totally in love. I had the pleasure of living with Jessica, Gracie, and Pez for a year during college. I had so much fun photographing those two. My grandpa got me a new camera for graduation, and I spent a LOT of time practicing on my furry little muses. Sadly, both Gracie and Pez have passed away in the last few years. They will always have a special place in my heart; I'm so glad they got to spend their years with one another in a wonderful loving home. These are some of my favorite shots of them!

This is Gracie
This is Pez (deep in thought)
Gotta love that Beagle howl!
This is one of my favorite pics!
This picture is a bit blurry but I don't care. We often found them laying like this. Have you ever seen so much love on one couch? Much love to Gracie and Pez!

Happy Spring!
Humans and pups everywhere are rejoicing the official arrival of Spring! I'm sure most dogs, like Murphy, just love to sniff and taste different plants. I thought this list from ASPCA might be useful for pet owners to check out: "The Top 10 Pet Toxins of 2011" You can never be too careful where your favorite "Fuzzy Face" is concerned! Happy Spring!
